Carnival Hat

New Year's Eve is always bright and fun. I propose to diversify our triumph, remembering the old custom to arrange a carnival night on December 31.
Of course, for a real carnival, making a costume yourself is very difficult. It is necessary to work hard on its manufacture and think over every little thing. But to create the spirit of carnival, it is enough for each guest to come up with a small accessory. For example, the headdress of some bright character. In a few hours, you can turn any man at the table into a London dandy. To do this, it’s enough to create a capital hat-cylinder from cardboard and colored paper.
We will need:
thick cardboard;
Whatman, rolled into a pipe for several days;
plain color paper;
PVA glue;
a piece of rubber band is about 20 cm.
From the cardboard we cut a rectangle slightly shorter than the volume of the head (so that the hat does not fall to the ears), and a height of 20-25 cm plus 1 cm from the side allowance for connection. Paste it with colored paper. Next, we turn it into a pipe and glue it.

For the bottom, cut out a circle with a diameter equal to the diameter of the pipe. On the outside, we also glue it with colored paper, and glue it on the inside to the pipe. To do this, when cutting a circle, leave 1 cm for stock. Next, we cut this allowance into tails that will connect the circle and the pipe well.

Now we take the rolled up whatman. We also cut a circle from it, only its diameter will be 8 cm larger than the diameter of the finished pipe. In its middle, we draw another circle with a diameter equal to the diameter of the finished pipe. But we will cut out this drawn circle taking into account an allowance of 1 cm. This allowance, like the previous one, is also cut into tails.

Glue the resulting ring on both sides with colored paper. We do this very carefully so that the Whatman does not straighten, since the fields of our cylinder should be raised up. Now with the help of the tails we fasten the pipe-cylinder and the field.
Since the hat does not wear on the head, we will hold it with the help of an elastic band. To do this, we make small holes with an awl in the fields of the hat as close to the pipe-cylinder as possible and we stretch and fix the rubber there.
Let's decorate our cylinder with snow - and the accessory for the carnival is ready!
