Make fancy flower stands in pots. Such napkins will look much more interesting than clay saucers, which usually come with a pot, especially if the plants are in the room. You can also use them for glasses or hot cups.
In addition, this is a good way to put in the remnants of fabric and shreds that are too small to sew anything serious from them.
Materials
- Trimming fabric.
- Scissors.
- Sewing machine or thread with a needle.
- Flower in a pot (optional).
Cut out the details
Cut a square from the fabric you plan to use for the center of the stand. You can use burlap, it is made from natural materials and will blend well with living plants. Make the stand multilayer so that it better absorbs moisture that seeps out of the pot.
The side parts should be slightly longer than the sides of the square. Add a hem to the hem if you want to hem the edges so they don't fray.
Sew details
First, stitch together several layers of the central part to each other so that they do not disperse.
Then sew the side parts to the center part as you like! It is easiest to sew the opposite edges first, then the remaining two edges. You can also sew the side parts in a circle so that each next overlays the previous one. Choose your option or make different ones.
Done!
Arrange flowers, glasses or whatever else on the coasters and enjoy the result of your work!
