From a simple strip of metal that can be found in almost every workshop or garage, you can make an unusual and original knife. But if you have a spring at hand, then it's better to use it.
First of all, the workpiece must be heated in the furnace red-hot, and give it the necessary shape with the help of a blacksmith hammer. The master does this on the anvil.
After that, you need to make markings on the workpiece, and then use the grinder to cut out the excess metal inside. As a result, wide slots should be obtained in the handle and blade of the knife itself.

Further, the inner edges of the slot will need to be filed with metal to smooth out irregularities and remove burrs. If there is a drill, then this work can be done with it - it will be much faster.
After that, it is necessary to sharpen the blade on a belt grinding machine. And then the master is already starting to harden the knife - he heats it red and cools in oil.
At the last stage of work, finishing processing of the knife is performed. The result is an unusual and rather original knife.
