If you often have to work with an electric soldering iron, then for convenience it will not be amiss to make a metal stand with a holder. And for this, you can use various improvised materials that can be found in the workshop or garage.
In this case, the author uses an old metal stand for a soldering iron as a small box with slots as a basis. Using it is not very convenient, but it is easy to fix if you make some design changes.
And the first thing you need to do is put the old stand in order (that is, clean it from rust). The master processes the outer part of the box with a grinder, and the inside with a metal file and sandpaper.
The main stages of work
Next, you need a spring from the washing machine. It must be fixed on a stand in a place where it will be convenient for you. The spring in this case acts as a holder for the soldering iron, and therefore it must be installed slightly at an angle.
At the next stage, you need to drill two holes in the stand: one for the bolt, and the second for the tin wire. A coil with tin will be mounted on the bolt itself.
