Aluminum cans, like any other container for carbonated drinks or beer, tend to accumulate over time. What to do with this “wealth” is not always clear, but before you take the waste to its intended place or somehow use it on the farm, it will not hurt to slightly reduce aluminum cans in volume.

And for this you can make a simple fixture - a homemade mini can press that can do just fine with this task.

This homemade product will require quite accessible materials: a piece of a narrow metal profile 10 cm long, a wider segment - 25 cm, and even wider - 5 cm. You will also need to find two strips 30 cm long, one 15 cm long and two more 5 cm, plates: 10x10 cm and 10x40 cm, metal bar.

The main stages of work

First of all, we weld the plates to each other from the inside. To a long plate, with some offset from the center, we attach a five-centimeter segment, along the edges are small fasteners from the smallest pieces. Next, we weld together the clamping bar and the profile pipe, inserting it into the workpiece.

At the next stage, we drill holes in strips (long and short ones already welded), then we connect them with bolts, leaving a free run. And to the other edges we weld a handle from a ten-centimeter segment.

The next task will be to drill holes in long strips (for different sizes of cans) and a profile for connecting to each other. Then we paint the mini press, check its performance.

We attach the footboard to the fixed surface with screws and you can already begin to “crush” aluminum cans. For details on how to make such a mini-press, see the video on the site.
