Do you have an old metal pan lying around in your country house or on the territory of a private house, which has nowhere to attach? Spend some personal time, and make an old piece of iron an unusual bird feeder. People will appreciate such a gift.

For this homemade product you will need a pot with a volume of at least 5 liters (preferably aluminum, so that it is not very heavy). You will also need to buy an LED lamp and a steel chain about one meter long.

First of all, mark the pan and cut off the upper part with a grinder. Then cut off the bottom. Instead of a pan, you can also use a piece of pipe with a diameter of 180 mm (or so). But since it is easier to find a pot, we will make a feeding trough from it.

The main stages of work

We cut a copper sheet of 80 mm wide suitable for the length and wrap it around the pan - for reliability we tighten it with wire clamps and connect the ends with a torch and solder paste. We clean the surface of the copper sheet with sandpaper.

Next, we drill a hole with a diameter of 30 mm for the LED lamp. Then, from organic glass (plexiglass), we cut out two identical “donuts” with an electric saw and a metal saw, which we fasten on the sides of the pan. For bonding, you can use ordinary mounting glue.

At the last stage, cut out a strip of plexiglass and insert it inside the "drum". You can warm it with a building hairdryer. We fasten the chain, insert the lamp, and the unusual feeding trough from the old pan is ready. For a detailed process of making this homemade product, see the video on the site.
