A cool mini hatchet can be made with your own hands from an old circular saw blade. It is useful both at home and in the field - for example, on a hike or while relaxing in the countryside.
First of all, you will need a paper template of the future mini hatchet. Draw it by hand or print it on a printer.
Transfer the cut paper template to the surface of the saw blade from the circular saw. To do this, you can use a marker or paint in the spray can.
The main stages of work
We arm ourselves with a small angle grinder (large will be inconvenient) and cut the workpiece. Since the edges were torn, they need to be put in order. To do this, use a grinder with a petal circle. Or you can process it on a belt sander.
At the next stage, it is necessary to make the descent of the blade, and also sharpen the mini hatchet. In the handle, we drill through holes for attaching wooden plates. And then we do the hardening of the blade, followed by tempering in the oven.
After grinding and polishing the metal, you can begin to manufacture wooden linings for the handle. Moreover, for this it is better to use solid wood: beech, oak or birch. However, the choice of material for the handle is at your discretion.
