Using such a home-made grinding nozzle, which can be used both in a conventional hand-held electric drill and on a drilling machine, it is possible to quickly and efficiently polish the surface of various metal billets. Moreover, for the manufacture of such a nozzle will require a minimum of time.

Manufacturing process

For this homemade product you will need to use wine corks that are made from cork oak bark. First of all, they need to drill a hole with a diameter of 5 mm strictly in the center (preferably). This is best done on a lathe, but you can also use a conventional power drill, holding the cork in a vise.
It is necessary to insert metal pins with a diameter of 5 mm into the holes obtained - they need to be "planted" on the epoxy resin, be sure to mix it with the hardener. After this, the plugs must be sanded so that the surface becomes even and smooth, and then glue an emery cloth on their end part.

Useful Tips

Please note that it is best to use fine sandpaper to polish steel parts and workpieces, but it quickly clogs. However, changing it will not be difficult, and if you make yourself more of these nozzles in advance, the work will go faster.

Of course, this is not an ideal option, but the most budget one. After all, it is much cheaper to make grinding nozzles from corks than from aluminum (especially if there is no lathe at hand).

The detailed manufacturing process of "cork" nozzles and their application can be seen in the video on our website.
