When you need to bend the edge of a metal plate or sheet of metal at an angle of 90 degrees, the first thing that comes to mind is to use a bending machine. However, not everyone has it.
However, there is always an alternative. If there is no listogib at hand, and there is no time to do it, you can use a simpler and at the same time effective way.
To do this, you need a grinder and a section of a profile pipe of any section (or you can take a square bar), which in this case will be used as a guide.
First of all, you need to prepare everything you need to work: a piece of plate, a profile pipe or bar, a grinder (angle grinder) with a cutting disc, a clamp, a tape measure and a square. After that, you can proceed to the next step.
Bend the edge of the steel plate
First you need to measure with a tape measure or ruler the required distance from the edge of the steel plate. Then, using a square and marker, draw a straight line along which the bend will be performed.
Further, the author sets the profile pipe strictly along the line, and fixes it from two edges with clamps. And along this guide it will be necessary to make a shallow cut with a grinder.
After that, we remove the guide and bend the edge of the steel plate with our hands. If necessary, you can cut a little more with a grinder, and bend the edge to get a right angle.
