Putting a hot kettle or pot directly on the countertop is not a good idea. There are special wooden stands for this. And in this review, the author suggests making a universal transformer stand made of wood with his own hands, which is designed for different sizes of hot dishes.
On such a home-made one you can put either a kettle or a pot, or a metal mug - to change the size of the stand, just turn the wooden "petals" in the right direction: out or in.
The main part of this homemade product is a piece of steel bar of suitable length. First of all, it is necessary to clean it with a grinder from rust (preferably to a shine of metal).
The process of making a simple universal stand
After the steel bar is cleaned from rust, you need to bend it into a ring. It is most convenient to do this on a pipe bender or a device similar to the principle of operation. But you can also bend it manually - only it will take more time.
At the next stage, the master makes a marking on a piece of the board, and then cuts out 4 identical "petals" from it. This can be done with a jigsaw or with a band saw. All cut blanks must be sanded.
After that, the master burns the wooden "petals" with a gas burner and cleans it with a brush. Then in the workpieces it is necessary to drill through holes along the diameter of the steel bar. "Petals" are put on the ring, and the homemade product is ready.
