The main stages of work
First, we saw off the size of the board with a thickness of 20 mm and a width of 150 mm, and tighten them with screws. Then we mark out a circle of suitable diameter and cut it out with an electric jigsaw. If there is no jigsaw available, then you can use manual.
Using a milling cutter, we make a perfectly even edge on the base. Next, we grind the wooden circle with a grinder, achieving a perfectly smooth and smooth surface.
Next, bend a metal strip 40 mm wide and put on a wooden circle. At the edges of the strip, we weld two nuts and tighten using a regular bolt. Then we weld the edges, and cut the nuts with the bolt with a grinder.
At the last stage of work, from a sheet of metal with a thickness of 8 mm, we make a base under the lower part of the hub, and from above we fix the pad and the pressure plate. Then we “sit” the hub in the center of the wooden circle and additionally reinforce with 20x40 mm pipes.
