Novice welders are far from always able to weld round pipes to each other with high quality (especially if you need to cook at an angle of 30 or 45 degrees). To facilitate the process of marking pipes and at the same time make the markup as accurately and quickly as possible, you can use a simple template of electrodes.
Template manufacturing process
Making a convenient template for marking pipes from electrodes is very simple. To do this, you need a piece of pipe that you need to weld (or you can take the "left" pipe, but of a similar diameter). We put two metal clamps on it, and then put it on the "pillow" of electrodes.
Before the electrodes, you first need to put the rope - we take its ends in hand, and then lift it up. The ends of the electrodes are fixed with rubber bands. Then we take out the pipe, and as a result we get a "groove" from the electrodes.
How to make markup by template
We attach the resulting template to the pipe, to which you need to weld the second pipe segment, and then you need to extend the electrodes so that they evenly touch the entire surface of the workpiece. After that, we put the template back on the pipe, which will be welded and make a marker with a marker.
Using a grinder, we make a cutout of the desired shape in the pipe, and then weld it. Due to the tight fit of the two workpieces, the seam is obtained, if not ideal, then at least high-quality and reliable.
